Year 4 and the Human Body

Year 4 are currently looking at how the human and animal bodies are formed.
We also found out that our muscles work in pairs. We carried out stretching exercises to find out which ones contract and which relax during exercise.

All human and most animal bodies have a skeleton. The class have found out that that a human skeleton has three jobs:

i) to support the body;
ii) to protect vital organs such as the heart, lungs and the brain;
iii) allows the body to move.

Get better at Times Tables

Times tables knowledge is extremely important. They are used in many topics of Maths and have practical uses in other subjects. It is really important to have a secure and quick recall of tables both as multiplication (7 x 6 = 42) and as division (42 divided by 7 = 6 and 42 divided by 6 = 7)
