Key Stage One Sports Day

The children from nursery, reception and year one have the pleasure of inviting their families and friends to their Sports Day. It will take place on Thursday 3rd July 2008 at 9.30am.

The children are very excited at participating in this years sports day! They have all been practising really hard and are raring to go! If you have an hour free we would love to see you cheering us on in our races.

Celebrating success in Literacy!

We love reading and spelling!

All of the infants in Roman road are working on reading and spelling their 300 key words. We learn them as part of our homework. It is very tricky, but our teachers have made it easier for us by splitting the words into groups. We have Copper, Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

Every time we achieve and award, we receive a certificate in whole school celebration assembly on Friday.

Reading Around the Solar System

In Key Stage One we are rewarding reading by giving each child some rocket fuel!

Every child has their own rocket. In our sink area we have displayed eight planets and the sun. We all started on the sun. Then each time we read a book at home and at school we gain rocket fuel. This means that our rockets are able to fly to the next star. When we land on a planet we get a prize. When we land on the last planet we will be presented with a special prize in assembly.

Everyone is much more excited about reading at home and at school!
Who is in the lead? Pop into school and find out.
