E-Safety
A knowledge of e-safety is essential if your child goes online.
The internet is an amazing resource which has meant children have developed their understanding of the technological and wider world to a degree that just wasn't possible in the past.
However, there are hidden dangers that can lurk at the other end of the Facebook, Bebo, MSN etc accounts.
There are some very good resources about e-safety and we encourage all parents and carers to look at them.

Online Citizenship Game with the Global Gang
As part of our learning about world around us and the issues people from different countries face, we will be posting links to different online activities that can be done.
This is is an excellent activity from the Christian Aid website that involves the 'Global Gang' going out on a mission.

Numeracy at Home
Here is a great site from ICT games, to help you or your child with their numeracy skills at home.
You will have great fun. Whack a Mole is a definite favourite, teaching children to count in steps of different sizes. Have a go - it's addictive.

Year 4 and the Human Body
Year 4 are currently looking at how the human and animal bodies are formed.
We also found out that our muscles work in pairs. We carried out stretching exercises to find out which ones contract and which relax during exercise.
All human and most animal bodies have a skeleton. The class have found out that that a human skeleton has three jobs:
i) to support the body;
ii) to protect vital organs such as the heart, lungs and the brain;
iii) allows the body to move.

Get better at Times Tables
Times tables knowledge is extremely important. They are used in many topics of Maths and have practical uses in other subjects. It is really important to have a secure and quick recall of tables both as multiplication (7 x 6 = 42) and as division (42 divided by 7 = 6 and 42 divided by 6 = 7)
