Line Dancing Festival
Children from Roman Road Primary School participated in Gateshead's Line Dancing Festival last night.
The children and parents thoroughly enjoyed the event, with everyone taking part and 'having a go', parents included! Children from Year 3, 4 and 5 represented the school and their behaviour was exceptional, they are a credit to our school.
We look forward to participating in next year with a view to having our own dance to present to the audience.
Many thanks to Miss Ternent, Miss Stubbs and Mrs Lacey for all their hard work in teaching the children the dances.
Photos to follow soon

Gateshead Dance Festival
A selection of children from year 5 and 6 amazed the audience with their rendition of What Time Is It? from High School Musical.
We arrived at Gateshead leisure centre at approximately 5.15pm where we eagerly awaited our turn in the 2008 Gateshead Dance Festival.
We were fourth on the dance floor and soon got the audience clapping and stomping their feet as we danced. We were all in time and gave maximum effort. Mrs Inkster and Miss Ternent were so proud of us after all of the hard work we had put in.
As soon as the girls split and let the audience see the boys with their basketballs the audience went wild! We received an amazing applause at the end.
We thoroughly enjoyed watching the other schools participate and were are very determined to be part of it again next year. Perhaps we might even bring some of Key Stage One along as they definitely get the audience attention with the "aah" factor.
Well done to everyone involved - your were FABULOUS!

Nearly 30 children in Year 5 and Year 6 have been getting put through their paces by Mrs Inkster and Miss Ternent every Wednesday evening, in preparation for their performance at Gateshead's Dance Festival.
Initially there were lots of red faces and aching muscles but we are now grooving away and looking like professionals.
The dance festival will take place on Thursday 13th March 2008 6.00p.m. - 7.45p.m.
Admission is by programme only and these must be rquested at school by Wednsday 13th February. Unfortunately there is a limit of two tickets per perfomer. The costs are as follows:
Adults £3.00
Children / Senior Citizens £2.00.
Parents may use video cameras or take photos provided they have signed the Lesiure Centre registration forms on the night.
Parking will be on the street around Gateshead Leisure Centre. Arrive early to ensure a space.
The centre doors into Maple Hall will open to spectators at 5.15pm. Dancers will need to arrive at the Leisure centre no later than this time. They will be met in the reception area by a member of staff from Roman Road.
The cafe in the leisure centre is clearly sign posted and will remain open until 7.30p.m. However food is not to be brought into Maple Hall. Children will need to bring a bottle of water with them on the night.
The orgnisers of the festival have requested that parents and children make every effot to remain throughout the festival and performances to share in the spirit of the festival "in sharing good practice."
If you have any further enquiries please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Inkster.
We hope you will be there to see us excite and enthrall with all our cool dance moves!
