In Year 2 we had some really difficult spellings to learn for the BookWeek Sponsored Event.
One of the words was 'papyrus'. Miss Allen is giving out the prizes for the most sponsor money raised this Friday (19th March). there will be a bronze, silver and a gold prize so keep collecting!!! Good Luck!

As part of our 50th Anniversary Celebrations, Mrs McKeown wanted a mural on the school site. It was to be placed on the side of the boiler house. Last year, Miss Allen asked a few talented artists to design the mural.
This week, they were invited back to use special paints to create the mural. It will be placed on the wall shortly!

We had a gift for all of the parents. We made a French painting (inspired by Claude Monet) and a bookmark. We also gave the parents a taste of France - a crepe (pancake) and cakes with home-made french flags.
All of them enjoyed our gift and the assembly went really well.
After the success of the assembly, we all said goodbye to parents and they congratulated us!

The Year 2 performed their fabulous Year 2 French assembly last Thursday. It was super and all the parents enjoyed it.
The children were fantastic and remembered all their lines. The audience heard every word! Miss Allen thought it was so wonderful the children all received a prize afterwards! Even Mrs McKeown said she had learned new things about France! Well Done for all your hard work Year 2!

We are an Eco School! We will shortly be asking pupils and staff to join our bid to win our Bronze, Silver and Green Flag Award. this will make us an Eco School. A Green Flag Award is an internationally recognised Award and we will win it!

Parents, let us know if you are interested in joining our Action Team!
You might be able to give us some tips on how to become more Eco Friendly. We already have a gardening club run by parents and staff. We have a rag bag bin so all your old clothes can go to be recycled. We are an amazing Bike-it! school and we can only get better!
Look out in the future for Eco Events and join with us in our journey to win the Green Flag!

The amazing Summer 2009 Musical is now available to buy on DVD for a bargain price of £5!! If you would like to purchase a copy, ask Mrs Redhead at Reception or Miss Allen in the Y2 classroom.

The Year 5 and 6 children put in loads of time and energy to make this a fantastic musical. Many people said it was 'better than going to the theatre'! Our children can match the talent of those on the stages of London! I can't wait for this year's musical...
Please make a comment on the website to say what you enjoyed about Oliver!
