The Big Sleepover

sleepover%20may%202011%20%287%29.JPG

On the night of Friday 20th May 2011, 32 children and 7 adults spent the night on the floor of Key Stage One hall. We had an absolutely terrific time. All of the children threw themselves into the activities on offer and said they had had the time of their lives.

However whilst this was a fun experience for us, never far from our minds was the realisation that for homeless people this is their life - every day, all weathers.

Congratulations to the 32 children who participated. The staff and the rest of the school are immensely proud of you. You have raised a staggering £330 for The People's Kitchen in Newcastle. We are sure the homeless of Newcastle will be touched to know that children as young as 7 braved the cold and slept on a hard floor to try and make a difference to their life.

You are quite simply - AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

Joshua had a great night he loved all the things that you did and would love to do it again and he was pleased that the school raised money for the homeless. I would like to say a big thank you to all staff for giving up your night and making it so much fun for Joshua.

I loved the sleepover especially when the police officers came and talked about homeless people. Me and my friends really enjoyed it. When it was time to get up i didn't want to because i was tired (asusual). When it was time to go home i was really sad :( but at least I had a proper sleep that night zzzzzzzzzzz.
