Food and Fitness.

Year 5 had a fabulous morning on Thursday, working with Nick the Chef and fitness trainer Ross. We were looking at the importance of balancing diet, exercise and rest. Half of the class worked with Ross looking at the idea that "Practising correctly makes perfect."

The rest of the class...

… worked with Nick, looking at the need for a balanced diet, and cooking some delicious, healthy pizzas.

The work was followed up in the classroom with Mrs Pigott looking at the ways in which food and exercise affect our bodies, and why it is important for us to have rest times. Everybody had a great morning, and learnt a lot at the same time.

I am so impressed with the food and fitness topic covered in Y5 - its such an important subject and one that should be considered with a whole school approach.
