Cookery Inventions.

Nick from Cooking 4 Life was working with Year 5 as part of their Incredible Inventions theme. He showed the children ways in which food preparation and cookery has changed throughout history with a range of inventions.

The children looked at different ways of cutting food, starting with stone tools, and then building up to knives and graters. The children particularly enjoyed ...

The Egg Whisking Challenge. Four children raced to whisk an egg; one was using a fork, one a balloon whisk, one a manual hand whisk and one an electric whisk. This was an excellent way to demonstrate how inventions can make things easier to do. After all their hard work the children made omelettes, and surprised themselves with how much they liked them. Thanks once again to Nick for a brilliant day!
