Year 4 are all back and raring to go after Christmas.
If you've eaten too much turkey and sweets, a great opportunity to run it off comes up really quickly with multiskills coming up at Heworth Grange!
Our main theme this term is science based. It is called 'Into the Light' and we will be looking at all things to do with light which is something we couldn't do without.
As well as looking at the scientific elements of light, we will also be covering the Hindu festival of Light which is called Diwali and doing artwork linked to shadows and colour.
Our Literacy work work is based around stories from other cultures so the story of Rama and Sita (The Diwali Story) will be read and used as a focus. During the second half term, we will be working on writing explanations using all the knowledge and skills that we will have developed.
We will also be investigating angles when we come to reflect light rays.
The topic links in well in the run up to Easter and the Easter story which we will also be doing activities on.
