Tudor Christmas.

Year 5 and the ARMS went on a visit to St Mary's Heritage Centre and Betty Surtees House to learn about a Tudor Christmas.

The children had a fabulous time learning about toys and games which Tudor children would have played.

They also had the opportunity to compare the Tudor clothes of rich families and servants. They learned about traditional Tudor Christmas meals, and table manners. One of the rooms was decorated for Christmas in the traditional Tudor style, and the children had the opportunity to make their own pommander (a decoration made from an orange and cloves) before they returned to school.
The children had a lovely afternoon, and learned a lot. Their behaviour was exemplary, and they were fantastic ambassadors for the school. Well done!
