Interfaith Week

PC060096.JPG

Earlier this week Sheila Olsen visited every class in the school and discussed her faith. The children learned stories form the Bible and what it means to be a Christian. Sheila even used balloon modelling to help her tell stories and we got to keep the models she had made. We also had an assembly which taught us that the bible is full of good things, ask your child about the dog food!!!! It was really Mars bars and jelly!!! We also came together as a school to give thanks to God by singing 'Glory and Honour' with actions. Many thanks to Sheila and Katie form Living Waters Church.

We have also had a visit form Michael Glickman who discussed his faith with the school. The children learned about the Jewish faith and now know facts about how long Jewish children study and what they study, about the clothing Jewish people wear and why. Michael also gave presentations to Years 2 and 3, covering the Shabbat and the Jewish community in Gateshead! Many thanks to Michael Glickman!

The children have worked very hard and have completed lots of creative work on their chosen religion and it will be displayed in school soon!
