Year 4 have been hard at work investigating light as part of their Creative Curriculum topic.
We used torches and black sugar paper to follow the light beams. From there, each group was able to reflect the light around an object. Another drawing using chalk was carried out.

This activity has taught me that light travels in straight lines. I can change the direction of light to make it turn corners. Also the darker materials cannot be reflected.

I have learnt that light travels in straight lines.

I enjoyed learning that if something is opaque you cant see through it. Light can't travel reflecting off a dark ruler but it can travel with tin foil and white piece of card.

I enjoyed the science experiment. If you shine a torch at something dark it won't reflect. Dont shine a light in peoples eyes.

I enjoyed the science activity about light. I have learnt that light can only travel in straight lines. We used a torch to shine on foil to reflect the light so it will go round the opaque shape. If you try to reflect the light on a dark object it will not work. I have also learnt that transparent means you can see through something clearly, translucent means that you can see through something but not clearly and opaque means that you can not see through something at all.

It was really fun. If you shine a torch on something dark it well light up.
