Year One have been learning all about magnets.
We learnt about horseshoe and bar magnets and found out that they can attract and repel.
At first we tested lots of different materials to find out what was magnetic. We thought that all metal was magnetic, but then when we tried our magents on lots of different magents, and we found out that not all metals were magnetic.
In fact the object needs to be made from Iron or Steel in order to be magnetic.
We had great fun exploring our classroom and finding magnetic objects.

I liked using the bar magnet best. I know that steel and iron are magnetic. I am very clever.
