Year 1 and year 2 had a tremendous time at Raby Castle in Durham.

Year One have been learning all about Castles and Fairytales, whilst Year Two have been Time Travelling. Therefore Mrs Inkster and Miss Allen combined our two classes for an exclusive visit to Raby Castle.

Raby castle is in Durham and is the home of Lord Barnard. He was at home the day we visited as he still lives there.

We saw some amazing sights, ranging from the Red Deer who were in the castle grounds, the castle kitchens, the Entrance Hall, Great Hall and Octagon Room.

We really wish we could show you some photographs of inside the castle but there was a no photography rule. However you can click on the link below which will take you to Raby Castles website. There you will find photos of the rooms we visited.

After our tour of the castle, and lunch in the Servants Hall, we were lucky enough to be able to play in the grounds of the castle.

The gardens were amazing. We had so much fun, playing hide and seek, making up fairytales and playing sharks on the lawns.

Before long it was time to go home. We all wanted to stay but we know our parents would have missed us, so we hopped on the bus and headed back to school, with many amazing memories of our castle trip.

Check out some other photos of our castle trip in the gallery.
