Each morning we will be continuing our fantastic work in Read Write Inc. We are making such fantastic progress and we are very proud of all we have achieved.

In numeracy we will be continuing to work on number bonds to 10; recording addition and subtraction in written form; find halves and quarters; count repeated groups of the same size; recording information in lists and tables.

Our overall creative theme this half term is Superheroes.

We will look at fictional super heroes portrayed by the media. Look at people from the past and present and how they are ‘real-life’ heroes, both in our community and family. Culminating in how we can make our world a better place – identifying problems, finding real solutions and designing our own superhero identities.

Art

• Using different media – pastels, paint, collage, photography and sculpture.
• Look at super hero artists – Picasso, Van Gogh.
• Looking at line drawings from comic books

Design and Technology

• Designing a super hero fruit smoothie.
• Designing a super hero costume.
• Learn how to follow and write instructions
• Use tools safely
• Evaluate designs.

Music

We will be learning about different musical instruments, composers and styles of music.

This half term we will be doing gymnastics and games.

Using Word to change the appearance of text.
Opening and saving a document.

Relationships and Changes

RE will be taught separately from the superheroes topic.

Within this term we will also be holding a Superhero Convention (date to be confirmed), parents wil be invited into school to see the fantastic work we have covered and also help us celebrate our achievements with the handing out of Super hero awards.

So we are going to be busy, busy, busy.
