We Visited the Toy Museum

website%20toys.JPG

Year One have had a very busy time this term learning all about Toys. We were lucky enough to be able to visit the Tynemouth Toy Museum where we were surrounded by toys.

The museum is owned by Tony and Maureen who have collectd the toys over many years. Tony is able to mend any old toys that people find. When we arrived after an exciting bus journey, we were taken into a classroom where Maureen showed us lots of toys and explained how they worked. Some of them were really funny. Our favourite was the Frankestein monster who was very scary until ... his pants fell down.

Next we went into the museum and explored. There was so much to see. Mrs Inkster, Mrs Cairns, Mrs Lacey and Mrs Miller were all able to find toys they had played with when they were little. There were thousands of toys!

Finally we said goodbye to Maureen and Tony and then hopped back on the bus home..shattered but happy.

Check out some of our photos from the visit in the year 1 gallery.
