The children in the MSB have been baking gingerbread biscuits.
They followed a recipe and developed their fine motor skills when using the 'rubbing in' method. Mathematical skills were used when weighing out the ingredients. The activity was followed up in literacy with the writing of instructions. The children had to remember what equipment they needed and what they did in the correct order. The children enjoyed using cutters to cut out the biscuit shapes. The children worked cooperatively together in small groups. Each child took their biscuits home to share with family and friends.
