Picture Frames

Since returning to school after the Christmas Holiday the children in the MSB have been enjoying doing design and technology. The first activity they took part in was making a picture frame. They used hack saws to cut lengths of wood to the correct size. A mortice block was used to cut the ends of the wood at a 45 degree angle. The lengths of wood were glued to the edges of a square of card. The children then designed a picture to place in their finished frame. The children were all sensible and used the tools correctly and safely and completed the activity without anyone having an accident. They all enjoyed this activity and were eager to start something new.

I had to colour a picture to put in my picture frame. I put it in my bedroom.

Well done to all the children in MSB class, Mr Slain and Mrs Minnican, you have excelled with your design and technology work. The skills you have learnt are tremendous. I know where to come if I need anything made for Year 1.
