RECYCLE ROBOT

P9090017.JPG

We have been sorting, organising and recycling materials in year one.

The whole school have focussed on the environment this term and we have been particularly looking at recycling materials.

We named and sorted materials. We have discussed whether they are natural or man-made. Are they dull or shiny? Magnetic or non-magnetic?

We have also looked at the importance of recyling materials.

Did you know it takes at least 300 years for a plastic bottle to degrade? This means lots of our rubbish in landfill sites will be there for hundreds of years.

To remind us all about the importance of recycling, year one made a robot out of recycled rubbish. We have displayed it in the key Stage One hall along with our own individual robots. We looked very carefully at the materials and decided which were most suitable.

Please help year one and RECYCLE YOUR RUBBISH!
