Look at our weaving! We have been learning all about different materials and how they can be used in art.
We started by looking very carefully at pieces of fabric with a magnifying glass. We could see that the material had lines going down as well as across. We experimented with the techniques of weaving using sugar paper.
Mrs Inkster told us this was called the weft and the warp. We got a weaving board and made the warp with wool.
We were then given lots of different pieces of fabric to use in our weaving. We had to carefully measue our lengths so that they were longer than the board. Then we got going with our designs. It was tricky to remember if we had to go over and under, or under and over. But we got there in the end with lots of help from our partners.
We will hopefully be showing our work around school. Come and have a look.
