This week we have been comparing and measuring lengths in Year One. We used string and our feet to compare the length of different objects we found in the classroom.
Red group used a piece of string to measure objects around the classroom. They found an object that was shorter, longer and 'roughly' the same size.
Green group drew around their feet and then compared them to the rest of the children on their table. They found out who had the longest and shortest foot and were able to order them.
Blue group had three strings of different length, they measured them and then ordered from longest to shortest.
Yellow group drew pictures making sure they had thought about the size. For example they drew a house that was larger than a boy and 3 snakes of different lengths.
We are getting really good at measuring!
