Science - Ourselves

In Year One we have been learning all about ourselves. We have an exciting hospital role play area to link in with the topic.

Mrs Inkster asked a very important scientific question.
Is the oldest child, the tallest child in the class?
In pairs we make predictions and recorded our answers on the class whiteboard.

Then we went outside and Mrs Cairns and Mrs Inkster lined us up in height order. They even wrote our names on the wall behind us. Then we organised ourselves into age order.

We found that Owen was the oldest, Annalise was the youngest, Jake was the tallest and Shannon was the smallest.

An exciting experiment that let us know the oldest person is not always the tallest. We grow at different speeds and different heights. A fascinating fact!

More exciting work on ourselves to follow soon.
