As with all traditions, Year One bowed out in style with the infamous chocolate painting day. A great time was had by all. We were all very excited and had looked forward to it all week, it didn't disappoint.

The laughter could be heard down the corridors and many people felt the need to drop by - just to take a look! So with a little bit of madness and a whole lot of fun Year One leave for their holidays and get ready for their time in Year 2.

Thank you for an amazing year, you have been superb in all you have accomplished. Good luck for Year 2, I know Miss Allen will love you as much as I have. Mrs Inkster xx

Junior Network Meeting

Did you know that it was 175 years ago when Gateshead first had an election!

Some of the children on the School Council had the opportunity to attend the Gateshead School Council Junior Network Meeting. Lots of other children from other schools were there.

Children from across the school took part in our annual Sports and Health week. What's more it isn't over yet. Due to the postponement of Sports Day last Tuesday, it will go on a little longer!!!

A squad of twenty children from years 3,4,5 & 6 took part in the Gateshead Primary Schools Athletics Festival at the International Stadium.

All the children worked extremely hard both in performance and above all attitude.

It was a great day with twelve semi-final places gained.

Well done to all the squad and thank-you to the adults that made the day possible.

Please ensure children have PE kits and wearing footwear they can run in, at school this week for Sports and Healthy week..

For the first time since we've been going to the Scottish Borders for our school residential, we did not see one drop of rain !!!
An amazing week saw seventeen year six and seven year fives enjoy a wide range of activities over five scorching days.

As usual, the children, parents and carers of Roman Road do not let us down with their fundraising efforts. We are pleased to announce that we have raised £276 for Omar, a 9 year old boy who lives in Senegal.

With the help of Action Aid, we are now his proud sponsors and await our opportunity to write to him and send him small gifts. Many, many thanks on his behalf. We are sure he will appreciate it, more than we will ever know. (Photo to follow soon).
